Actual Conversation (Act 2)

Garfield2Me: Sydnie, what would you like to eat for your Birthday dinner?

Sydnie: Frog Soup

Where do they get this stuff? HA HA

Happy Birthday Sydnie!

BunniesI know I haven't updated for a few days. I have been crazy busy getting the house ready for showing.

Today our house was included in a realtor tour. Basically this gives realtors a chance to check out houses for their clients to see if they find any worth showing them. Apparently it went well, and I am hoping we get some showings here in the next couple of days.

Tomorrow I am going up to my Mum's to spend a couple of days there. That way I can leave the house nice and clean and people can come see it as much as they want. Jason flies home Friday around supper time, so I'll be back by then.

This weekend Mum and Dad Desjarlais are coming down from Edmonton, and bringing Aunty Reta along. We are going to have a little celebration for Sydnie's 3rd birthday, which is today actually. Even though she isn't getting any of her gifts today, and her dad is away, I am doing my best to make it fun for her. I took the kids over to the gym to play with some of the other kids. It was awesome for me because I got to visit with my former co-workers.

After that I took them to Dairy Queen and bought them each a sundae with sprinkles. That seemed to make her very happy (Lincoln too!)

Tonight my best friend Veronica is coming over for dinner, and I think I will let Sydnie open the gift that Uncle Brian dropped off here on the weekend. She can't open our gift yet because we bought her this awesome Dora Pirate Ship and I want Jason to be home to see how excited she is.

I am hoping the house sells fast :) Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Actual Conversation (Act 1)

WooHooLincoln: Goodnight Mom, don't let the bed bugs bite.

Me: What should I do if they bite me?

Lincoln: Well...you'll have to kill them with a net.

Kids are so cute most of the time, HA HA.

Clean Sweep!

BunniesMy house is looking fantastic! My best friend in the world came over last night to help me clean up some things. She emptied my fridge and cleaned it out and pitched in to get all the finger prints off of our appliances.

Today I was blessed by my Aunty Maureen, who had the day off and stopped by to spend the afternoon entertaining the children so that I could tidy up. I feel like everything is under control, and I was able to send a lot of great pictures to our realtor for our MLS listing.

Have a good week family and friends! keep your fingers (and toes and arms and legs) crossed that the house sells fast!

We Can FINALLY List Our House!

GarfieldWe met with our realtor, Colin this morning. Due to the relocation process and the paperwork and approvals involved, we were not allowed to list our house until now (well, tomorrow actually).

Colin took a look at the house and brought over some recent and current listings in our area. We looked everything over and we've all agreed that listing our house around $510,000.00 is our best bet to sell it relatively quickly, while still getting a reasonable amount for it. We are pleased with that number, and Colin feels that we will get a LOT of showings in the next couple of weeks.

Once the house is up on MLS I will post a link so you can take a peek at it.

Jason was home for the weekend and we got to enjoy a lot of family time together. The kids sure miss him.

The housing situation on the other end seems to be settling out. We just have to clear up a few questions with Reid Built Homes there before we sign on to build. They have been generously holding onto the lot we want, until we make up our minds (and they did not require us to put a deposit on it either).

Building a new house seems rather stressful and complicated to most people, but I actually enjoy the building process a great deal. We don't mind having to wait for a house if we are going to get exactly what we want. We don't spend a lot of time waffling over decisions, so generally the process moves along quite smoothly, and with minimal hassle.

We are going to be making some modifications to the floor plans. Mainly we are expanding the kitchen, adding a fifth bedroom to the second floor, and turning the loft into a Master Bedroom complete with en-suite and walk-in closet. That means we will have 6 bedrooms (and one in the basement). Plenty of room for family and friends who come to visit us.

Now to finish getting our house ready for viewing. I am hopeful that we will get a good offer quickly, so that we can get the showing process over and done with. Having the two little ones underfoot makes it especially difficult, but we shall manage!

I hope that everyone had a great weekend. I will continue to keep you posted, as always!

The Kiddos And I

The Kiddos And I

Here's the picture that Jason has sitting on his desk at work. I think it's a pretty good shot of the kids and I.

Speaking of the kids, they just got back from a great weekend with Grandma Shirley and Great-Grandma Pearl. Great Aunt Lorna had them over to play at her house with all of her cool toys! They got to ride around on the golf cart at Great-Grandma's house and see a live mouse that got caught in the basement! Very exciting stuff.

Jason and I had to stay home and do boring grown-up stuff, LOL.

This week he is looking at a couple more houses in Guelph. I am going to get together with our realtor on this end to get our house listed. Jason flies in tomorrow night, which makes me happy :)

Not much new and exciting. I will write a little more as soon as I can. Hard to believe it's already May. Where does the time go?
